      Position Summary

      A career in Gas Supply Scheduling will provide the opportunity to manage and support all commodity scheduling requirements for South Jersey Industries Utilities natural gas activity on pipelines and storage facilities. The Gas Supply Scheduler is responsible for assisting the Natural Gas Traders in optimizing transportation assets and minimizing imbalances to eliminate and/or avoid pipeline penalties. The role involves recording all relevant data and transactions on the monitoring system to ensure proper tracking for the generation of reports.

      Note: This position requires working before/after regular office hours including some work during holidays and weekends.

      Essential Functions –

      • Accurately schedule natural gas on assigned interstate pipelines by prescribed deadlines.
        • Optimize use of assets while minimizing cost and avoiding pipeline penalties.
      • Coordinates with Natural Gas Traders all allocated volumes, imbalances and scheduling of gas sales/purchase transactions.
      • Coordinates purchases, sales, and transportation information with external counterparties.
      • Monitors and communicates pipeline operational information postings, managing pipeline imbalances.
      • Develops and cultivates favorable relationships with gas purchasers, producers, pipeline reps, and suppliers.
      • Monitor pipeline rates and tariffs and accurately accounts for all pipeline costs and accurately tracks all scheduled gas activity on the pipeline websites and assist the gas analyst checking for deal accuracy and any end of month procedure as needed.
      • Reconciles pipeline statements and counterparty invoices.

      Qualifications

      Required Background:

      • Bachelor’s degree with 5- 8 years of relevant experience, or;
      • Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
      • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

      Preferred Background:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics
