      You will serve as a NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the Natural Resources & Environment Affairs Branch, Installation and Environment Division of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

      This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

      Duties


      • You will ensure National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents are in conformance with applicable law, regulation, and policy.
      • You will coordinate with natural resource specialists to obtain, compile and analyze information used in formulating specific components of program and project plans.
      • You will instruct project staff on the plan standards and guidelines related to the unit natural resource management proposal.
      • You will write environmental analyses, assessments, and environmental impact statements.
      • You will prepare annual operating plans and/or budgets.
      • You will develop, monitor, and maintain planning documents and action plan for all aspects of the program of work.

      Requirements


      • Must be a US Citizen.
      • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
      • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

      • You are required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
      • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
      • This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
      • You must be willing and able to use protective clothing and gear and observe safety precautions.
      • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
      • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

      Qualifications


      In addition to meeting the positive education requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing Natural Resources management activities through observations, gathering/analyzing data, reviewing permits, field inspections, and reporting findings in environmental assessments/impact statements while in regulatory compliance.
