Excellent relationship leadership skills including stakeholder management at senior executive level. Strong analytical skills with a good level of proficiency in statistical and mathematical concepts
Solid understanding of climate and nature-related policy, regulatory and disclosure practices, policy drivers and trends on a global scale
Good understanding of climate, nature and wider sustainability risks, policies, regulations, and how to apply this to an asset portfolio as well as and disclosure practices, policy drivers and trends on a global scale
Technical understanding of asset class investment approaches and experience reviewing and analysing sophisticated methodologies or investment strategies
Understanding across natural asset classes and how to measure environmental outcomes from activities. Knowledge of natural assets, nature, and biodiversity measurements / KPIs
Starting salary of circa £80,000 (National) and circa £100,000 (London based applicants) depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.

Nature Strategy Lead
National salary Circa £80,000
London salary Circa £100,000
We have a unique opportunity for a Nature Strategy Lead to join our team and assist us in achieving our Sustainability Ambitions! This is a great job for someone motivated by embedding sustainability into a business by integrating scalable balanced practices!
Aviva has introduced “smart-working”, and the person in this role can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as they are comfortable regularly travelling to our London offices.
A bit about the job:
In this role you will lead all aspects of the development and prioritisation of activities to meet Aviva’s nature and biodiversity ambitions and their contribution towards broader strategic objectives, whilst also identifying and supervising nature-related risks and opportunities.
You will lead and develop the group biodiversity and nature strategy and the development of nature-related targets that advance Aviva’s biodiversity policy and strategy. This includes supporting the biodiversity assessments and driving the engagement on target setting. Working closely with the Sustainability Manager - Nature and Sustainability Modelling Lead, support the assessment and adoption of new models, modelling methodologies and frameworks, e.g. IPR FPS+N, TNFD Scenario Analysis, LEAP approach, NGFS scenario updates.
You will undertake research and critical analysis of relevant nature-based parameters and assumptions to support the work of the Sustainability Modelling Lead and lead external alliances for nature and work with external partners to gain credibility and source for new research or policy developments on biodiversity / nature science and finance, supporting the development of advocacy positions, policies and approaches whilst also considering the financial implications to the business.
