      The Opportunity As a Non-Destructive Testing Technician (NDT), you will provide support to our world class Horizon Oil Sands operations by working as part of a wider NDT team to perform diverse non-destructive tests that ensure quality and/or detect defects. You will gain broad exposure across our Oil Sands facilities (Albian and Horizon), along with an extensive certification based training program. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to fine tune and build on your existing knowledge by working in diverse settings throughout all operating areas. Key Accountabilities: - Detecting discontinuities and/or defects using various NDT methods following approved procedures of inspection with high attention to detail, safety, and quality - Working both within a team and independently to perform a broad variety of NDT methods in an industrial setting. Provide mentorship and technical support to trainee technicians - Technical report writing including visual aids to be provided to requestors within the Asset Integrity departments and contractor QA/QC - Working environment includes but not limited to: Confined spaces, noisy live plant areas, working at heights, elevated work platforms, and working outdoors in extreme climates - Ensure that all work is being performed effectively and in a timely fashion - Continuous improvement with personal development and certifications in line with the CNRL NDT progression model - Perform other duties as required Other Details: - Job location: Horizon Oil Sands – Fort McMurray, Alberta - Shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, 11.5-hour shifts - Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Regular Policy - Company sponsored fly-in/fly-out and camp facilities with flights from Calgary or Edmonton - Competitive salary, stock options, stock savings plan and benefits - This is a safety sensitive position Skills & Qualifications: - Minimum 5+ years of related industry experience with Grade 12 or GED. - CGSB certification in Ultrasonic Testing Level 1 (UT-1), Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 (MT-2), CGSB Penetrant Testing Level 2 (PT-2) as a minimum.- NDTCB XRF Level 1 or 2CGSB would be an asset. - Familiarity with and understanding of the following would be desired:- Performing Phased Array testing - Hardness and Ferrite testingA - Industrial Thermography - Working in a physically demanding environment - Performing inspections and interpreting results - Training and/or certification in IRATA Rope Access would be an asset - Effective oral and written communication/presentation skills in the English language are required. - Willingness to learn and ability to follow directions and procedures. - Willing to work inside as well as outdoors, possibly in confined spaces and high structures. - Physically able to carry out demanding work. - MS Office and technical report writing.
