      The Role

      Carnival UK are looking for a Network and Communication Engineer to join our team of specialised professionals providing operational support to all Network and Communication Services Infrastructure, providing 3rd line support to the IT department along with input to project initiatives. Acting as an SME within Networks and Communication Services, including Incident and Problem Management, Proactive Maintenance activities and Implementation of innovative new technologies.

      You will

      • Provide SME input to core networking technologies for operational and project delivery purposes
      • Act as a technical lead in all Network & Communication activities, working closely with connectivity partners and third-party suppliers
      • Perform daily maintenance and upgrades of the CUK infrastructure across ship and shore services)
      • Proactively Identify operational issues and ensure remediation to minimise business impact, maintaining regular contact with stakeholders during incident and problem resolution
      • Administer and configure Palo Alto Firewalls, IT Core Cisco platform LAN/WAN,

      Core HP switches (LAN), Core WIFI Aruba solution, NAC solutions (Cisco ISE & Airwave) and automation tools (Cisco DNA & Aruba Airwave)


      Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK09 and is offered on a full time permanent, with hybrid working in our Southampton office, 3 days per week, predominantly across usual office hours. Due to our global service provision across ship and shore, all colleagues work an out of hours rota on a fair and rotational basis as well as undertaking occasional international travel to our ships’

      About You


      Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you’ll also need:

      • Experience in implementing, configuring, and supporting Palo Alto Security devices/Firewalls
      • Experience in implementing, configuring, and supporting of Wi-Fi Aruba devices and controllers
      • Experience in implementing, configuring, and supporting network access control systems Cisco/Aruba
      • Experience in implementing, configuring, and supporting network configuration & automation systems. (Cisco DNA/Aruba Airwave)
      • Ideally had some experience of automation systems such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef
      • Experience in a fast-paced support environment
      • Experience with incident ticket systems
