      We currently have an opportunity for a Network Architect to join Melbourne Airport on a permanent basis. This role is required to design and implement complex computer networks for Australia Pacific Airport Corporation (APAC), in support of the APAC’s current and future network needs. The Network Architect is part of a team that collaborates closely with other IT professionals to optimise networks for performance, security, and scalability. This role reporting to the Network Architect Manager and is required to work closely with APAC stakeholders, service providers, and vendors to ensure architecture and design solutions for the network and communications systems are appropriate and effective for the APAC businesses to perform optimally. Key responsibilities: * The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to: * Work with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to architect solutions to provide network services and communication solutions securely and optimally. * Discover, define, design, and document both technical and business requirements. * Design network solutions for APAC and tenant requirements. * Work with the APAC Cybersecurity team to ensure that designed solutions are secure and have appropriate controls applied. * Review project submissions from Cybersecurity and capital works projects. * Participate in the Change Approval Board (CAB) process. * Ability to perform risk analysis, design mitigations, and provide advice on technical issues. The successful candidate will have: * Qualifications in Information Systems, Security, Networks, or a related discipline, with 10+ years in Technology roles with a minimum of 5 years specifically in technical roles. * Specialist in network engineering, design, and implementation. * Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and other associated networking technologies. * Experience with MPLS, campus switching, firewalls, SD technologies, management platforms such as DCNM, DNAC, ISE, SolarWinds, Panorama. * Experience with Cisco Security Suite, D365/O365, Compliance products will be advantageous. * Experience with automation and change control operations. * Experience in the implementation and integration of network data and voice technologies. * Prior experience in enterprise and large campus environments. Airport operational systems would be beneficial. * Some engineering work (on the switches, routers, firewalls) will be required from time to time. Skills / Behaviours: * Strong written and verbal communication skills that can translate into the development of network designs / process / procedure / technical / transition to project and operations documentations. * Effective communication skills within Technology and APAC, and external parties (tenants, vendors, service providers). * Ability to consistently apply broad knowledge of network administration to the diagnoses and resolution of network problems through requirements analysis and design processes with consideration of end-user, performance, cost, and management. * Excellent organisational, time management, and project management skills.
