We are currently seeking a remote Network Engineer for a 12 to 18-month contract. The Network Engineer balances the efforts of the Enterprise Network team to include an appropriate level of day-to-day problem-solving versus long-term projects and solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in network management, TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN configurations, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.

Note: This role is primarily remote but may have potential for travel around San Jose, CA area or parts of Latin America. (Travel 10% or less)

Pay Rate: $55-$70/hr

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement functional networks
• Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations
• Building site to site VPN tunnels on Palo Alto Firewalls
• Dual internet and dual virtual router management and configuration on Palo Alto Panorama.
• ISP logistic and vendor communication and coordination.
• SVI or layer 3 VLAN interfaces living in the Palo Alto.
• Manage multiple site upgrades and create documentation
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues
• Ensure network security and compliance with security policies
• Collaborate with team members to optimize network usage
• Hardware: Discovery, Quote & Order, Configure & Install, Recycle / Return To Vendor / Return To Client
• Cabling: Discovery / Floor Plan Mark-Up, Quote & Order, Installation, Coordinate Cutover
• High Level Requirements: Switching & Routing, Palo Alto Firewall, Wireless, Tripp Lite, UPS & PDU, Change Control, Documentation

Qualifications:

• CCNP level Cisco certification or Palo Alto certification, a plus
• Expert level in building site to site VPN tunnels on Palo Alto Firewalls
• Intermediate level Cisco routing and switching
• Dual internet and dual virtual router management and configuration experience on Palo Alto Panorama.
• Experience in ISP logistic and vendor communication and coordination.
• Experience with SVI or layer 3 VLAN interfaces living in the Palo Alto.
• Detail Oriented, managing multiple site upgrades and documentation
• Understanding and configuration of Port-Channels on Cisco
• Configuration of Aggregate interfaces on Palo Alto
