ROLE PURPOSE:
Responsible for flight planning ,scheduling, analysis and coordinating Network Air schedules in a combination of best service levels and costs.
YOUR TASKS:
· Provide input into schedule planning and analysis under the direction of the Senior Scheduling Manager.
· Develop solutions to flight schedule planning and analysis activities. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve optimized seasonal, live schedules, and conceptual flight schedules.
· Provide recommendations to address trading off operational, fleet, and revenue considerations to produce industry-leading schedules.
· Manage and maintain the complex historic slot portfolio of DHL Aviation EEMEA and 3rd party airlines operating for DHL Express MENA in line with the IATA Worldwide Slot Guidelines and timelines, as well as applicable laws, regulations and local rules.
· Publish and coordinate Network Air schedules in a combination of best service levels and costs.
· Ensure exact slot holdings at the optimal timings for all DHL Express Air movements operating at a slot coordinated or facilitated airport.
· Attend the IATA Slot Coordination Conferences as a DHL Express representative to obtain those slots that will enable the best possible schedules to offer our customers.
· Work with Airline partners to secure needed and/or best alternative airport slots by building and managing strong partnerships. Use interpersonal styles to create and sustain effective relationships with business parties within the aviation industry such as slot coordination entities, other airlines and airports.
· Internally act as a worldwide expert for other regions by providing assistance and support to their slot coordination tasks, especially for Global NCG and NPG and raise awareness on the importance of the airport slot control process, the specific rules, regulations and constraints and ensure compliance to those.
· Negotiate airports access, ground time allocation and night quota with Airport Slot Coordination offices for each airport of the DHL Network.
· Manage an excellent level of knowledge in terms of flying restrictions, night slots, local rules and night/noise quotas as those are essential for DHL Express to conduct our business. Monitor and update relevant traffic rights issues with DHL owned and contracted carriers.
· Actively participate in industry affairs committees for slot policy (e.g. IATA SPWG, IATA Strategic Review) to ensure the strategic direction of airport slot policies, key issues, priorities, rules and regulations are developed in a way that fits the needs of DHL Express.
· Monitor fleet performance and submit slot monitoring reports to Airport Slots Coordinators, establishing the origin of deviation (own responsibility or other cause).
· Work with Airline Operation Control Centres to enable them Airport Slot Management during off hours through training and providing up-to-date guidelines.
· Producing, publishing and communicating regional seasonal, holiday, charter and ad-hoc schedules.
· Assign flights to the individual operators in a fair way, but for the best interest of DHL Express.
· Ensure DHL stations are able handle DHL Network flights, request and check handling for schedules accordingly.
· Coordinate with Maintenance Departments of the Airline Operators to ensure Maintenance Schedules fit into the Planned Schedules.
· Analysis of flight schedules for additional revenue and/or cost-savings opportunities.
· Assist Network Planning in case of Contingencies with Schedules & Slots relevant information.
· Build, monitor and maintain competitor schedule data files to contrast and compare with DHL schedules.
· Conduct Netline testing exercises as required.
YOUR PROFILE:
· University degree or equivalent through experience; preference is Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Programming, Accounting or Financial analysis
· Preferably 5-7 years’ experience in an Airline/Network Control, scheduling or flight dispatch environment.
· Advanced Computer skills in use of spreadsheets and various airline specific software systems, computer database programming desirable.
· Excellent knowledge of IATA Worldwide Scheduling Guidelines, IATA Standard Schedule Information Manual, EEC related Council regulations, ATC and ATM regulations, Freedoms of the Air.
· Sophisticated expert knowledge of aviation, aeronautical airspace regulations, regional ops rules and airline operational procedures.
· Superior analytical and critical thinking skills.
