Job Description

- Follow all safety guidelines and practices and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Prepare shell and parts for painting using proper techniques, equipment and materials.
- Develop knowledge and skill to prepare different surfaces for priming and painting.
- Develop knowledge of equipment and the skill to use it for surface preparation.
- Become acquainted with materials needed and the skill to use for surface preparation.
- Prep and mask shell of bus to protect from overspray
- Work closely with painters and leadership to develop a complete understanding of quality paint standards to ensure that the paint finishes produced by the paint department are of the highest quality possible.
- Develop knowledge and skill to perform touch-up painted surfaces along with buffing paint finishes.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Previous paint production experience desirable, but not required.
- Ability to read and follow basic measurements and verbal/written instructions.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and perform repetitive tasks within an eight (8) hour shift.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity in order to perform essential functions of the job.

POSITION SUMMARY
As a part of the Paint Department, this position will develop the skills needed for the cleaning and preparation of coaches for paint applications, primers and top coatings, operate the equipment needed (sanders, grinders, buffers, paper machines, etc.) to produce the highest quality paint finish on New Flyer productions.
