What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, stamping, indexing, and distributing
- Prepare, type, and mail completed new loss notices for filing or emailing
- Monitor new claims and manage necessary forms such as acknowledgment letters and releases
- Answer and route department telephone calls, and initiate follow-up calls as directed
- Document and maintain various logs, and generate reports as directed by the Client and Claims Manager
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two to three years of general office experience, with at least one year in the claims industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience in training and cross-training subordinates
- Ability to interact with individuals at all levels in a business environment
