      Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Division is seeking an NG Fellow 1 Digital Transformation – Digital Engineering & Technology . An NG Fellow is an engineer or scientist who contributes to our technical growth and serves as a leader and resource for innovative technical information and strategy, leveraging expertise and knowledge to solve the most difficult problems facing our organization and our customers. As the recognized leader in this technical domain, you will join engineering, program, strategy, Information Technology, and business development leaders in architecting, developing, maturing, and integrating Digital Engineering capabilities and Technology according to Customer, Business and Program priorities, requirements, and needs. This leadership position may require travel, but will be located in any of the Aeronautics Systems major locations - Palmdale, CA, South Bay, CA, Rancho Bernardo, CA, or Melbourne, FL

      This is an appointed position; entry is available only through documented review and approval by executive engineering management.

      Responsibilities:

      • Champion digital transformation vision & strategy by articulating and advocating for a future digital transformation vision aligned with the overall Northrop Grumman Corporation strategy to meet Customer requirements and Business goals. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, concepts, practices, and procedures for effective technology transition/implementation. Help drive and shape future of Digital Transformation.
      • Drive technical superiority through leadership, technology advancement, problem solving & avoidance, and long-term strategy for digital transformation according to established vision and strategy. Oversee multiple Business prioritized projects aimed at the development, implementation, and execution of Industry leading digital capabilities through all phases of project lifecycle.
      • Influence and support realization of business objectives by developing advanced applications of Digital Engineering & Technology and attracting & capturing new business consistent with the long-term strategy. Assess program and/or product requirements for Digital Engineering Capability & Technology and implement an effective plan for delivering upon them.
      • Develop & strengthen relationships for accelerating value realization from Digital Engineering & Technology with internal and external Customers, Industry, Universities, Laboratories, Professional Societies, Committees, and through corporate outreach. Provide a good face for the Corporation through effective communication.
      • Construct a foundation of knowledge through leadership, team building, mentorship, and knowledge sharing. Champion and lead creation of a staffing plan to execute the digital transformation vision, strategy, and plan in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Design, Research, manufacturing, Test, Certification, Contracts, Quality, Global Supply Chain, Airworthiness and Sustainment).
      • Aerospace Industry Expert & Recognition by represent NG externally in industry at conferences, publishing white papers, and championing & securing patents.

      The expectation of the candidate selected for the NG Fellow 1 Digital Transformation – Digital Engineering & Technology will have the following experience:

      • Aerospace Industry Expert & Recognition: Recognition by Aerospace Industry as a technical specialist and thought leader with demonstrated leadership, participation in Professional Societies and publications in the areas of Digital Engineering, Digital Technology and/or Digital Transformation.
      • Champion for Business Value Realization: Demonstrated leadership in realizing program adoption of Digital Engineering Capability / Technology from design to manufacturing and/or sustainment including value assessment in the Aerospace arena.
        • Experience in development or application of digital technologies, capabilities or applications that led to new product/business opportunities or program wins.
        • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset including the ability to uncover new digitally focused opportunities.
      • Aerospace Industry Toolset Experience: Experience leading and delivering new digital capabilities using Aerospace Industry relevant toolsets and platforms.
      • Workforce Development Experience: Experience with mentorship, training and/or workforce development initiatives to grow the talent pool within Digital Engineering & Technology disciplines.

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 20 years of experience to include a background in aerospace digital transformation; Master of Science in a STEM discipline and 18 years of experience to include a background in aerospace digital transformation; PhD in STEM and 15 years of experience to include a background in aerospace digital transformation
      • Experience in development or application of digital technologies, capabilities or applications that led to new product/business opportunities or program wins
      • Experience leading and delivering new digital capabilities using Aerospace Industry relevant toolsets and platforms
      • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
      • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Active DoD secret or top secret clearance
      • Active Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
      • Affiliation with university/universities
      • Affiliation with professional societies (ex: ASME, SAE)
      • Patents and/or publications
      • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset including the ability to uncover new digitally focused opportunities

      Salary ranges will be dependent upon where the position is based and follows our company geographic salary bands aligned with position. Specific salary offer for candidate selected will be commensurate with experience.

      Salary Range: $178,900.00 - $310,700.00

      The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
