Nissan Sunderland Supply Chain Management Degree Apprenticeship

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a broad and fast-moving field spanning multiple functions. The teams ensure we get the right parts and vehicles to the right place, at the right time and at the right cost.

As part of our Supply Chain Management team, you will ensure the global supply needs for our products are met. You will operate in a highly diverse environment where no two days are the same! It’s a complex, multi-dimensional operation covering logistics, inventory control, project management and supplier relationship management. Without the Supply Chain Management team, the accolade of being the UK’s largest car manufacturer would not be possible.

We are an integral part of Nissan, and we have a variety of roles within the SCM function:

• Inbound Logistics liaise daily with logistics providers to design and engineer innovative and cost-effective global logistics solutions.
• Production Planning work with internal production shops to schedule their production, and interface with the Sales & Marketing team to understand customer demand.
• Parts Control manage the inbound supply of components from a global supply base whilst maintaining lean inventory levels.
• Design Change Control work as an interface between the Design team and the manufacturing plant to ensure the smooth introduction of material changes.
• Outbound Logistics are responsible for the delivery of vehicles from all production sources to final dealer locations across international overseas markets.

Apprenticeship Overview

This scheme combines both practical and theoretical skills allowing our Apprentices to gain valuable insight into all aspects of automotive manufacturing and

supply chain management.

You will acquire the skills and knowledge to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. The scheme will offer you opportunities to experience diverse challenges across multiple roles.

The degree apprenticeship will span a period of six years. Throughout the first four years of this apprenticeship, you'll study at university one day per week and four days will be spent full-time in your team at Nissan.

Following successful completion of the four years, you will then enrol onto Nissan's graduate scheme, based within an allocated department, for the final two years of the programme.

What you'll achieve at the end of your Degree Apprenticeship:

• Supply Chain Leadership Professional Level 6 (Integrated Degree).

What you’ll need:

• 2 A-Levels or equivalent, plus Level 2 in Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
• You must have permission to live and work in the UK without restriction.
• A willingness to learn with a passion for problem solving.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication.
• Creative and forward thinking.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced organization.
• Willing to travel if required.
