- Ideal candidate should have skills and experience in NMR relaxation and analysis, a strong background in NMR physics, and NMR methodologies
- Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or related field – highly preferred
- Five years or related experience in NMR data collection and analysis
- Candidates with excellent MATLAB and Python programming skill are preferred
- This leader would not only ensure the successful continuation and timely delivery of ongoing projects but also help maintain our critical client relationships, and also foster new ones. Furthermore, the new leader would provide mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the department
- Leading a team of scientists and engineers for the best-class NMR downhole sensor design, testing, and qualification; data acquisition optimization, and the data processing algorithms, and interpretation models
- Engaging and collaborating with the NMR SMEs and technical leaders in key operators. Be able to effectively communicate with clients on the spectrum of NMR techniques including LWD and WL logging tool and technologies, as well as interpretation technology. Initialize ideas and projects that of mutual interests between HAL and operators, write proposal, and follow through for customer financial support to carry out these projects
- Working closely with NMR product champion(s) and relevant SBMs for resolving emerging issues and addressing their requests
- Providing global technical supports to FRS and Operations that requires sensor physics attention. Address clients’ NMR questions and requests that cannot be resolved with operation teams. Strive to promote Halliburton NMR technology to the FE field
- Mentoring young professionals and providing opportunities to their professional growth
- Taking ownership of maintaining a solid NMR IP portfolio with individual and team contributions; being thoroughly familiar with the IP landscape of NMR formation evaluation domain; contribute innovative Ips to both traditional O&P and new energy applications
- Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in science or engineering or equivalent degree, and minimum of 10 years’ experience or through 14 years of related experience.
- Evaluating NMR log and/or core results for trouble shooting
- Advising clients and operations on recommendation and NMR job planning relevant
- Designing physical and simulation experiments and procedures for validating and testing NMR sensor, tool, and petrophysical models
- Solid track record of patent and publications relevant to NMR
- Explaining and defending technical decisions based on scientific reasoning
