      Department Overview

      The mission of Risk Management is to provide a comprehensive risk management program that contributes to health, safety and protection of patients, employees, faculty, students and visitors, while also protecting the University's physical and financial resources. Risk Management is responsible for purchasing all lines of liability insurance for OHSU and manages professional liability, workers compensation, property and other types of claims for OHSU. In addition, Risk advises on mitigation strategies and participates in trainings for partner departments as requested.

      Function/Duties of Position

      • Under direct supervision of Associate Director, primarily provides general administrative support for the Risk Management department.
      • May also include some basic data entry and report generation.
      • Work with Risk Analyst to on entry and payment of claims and insurance invoices, entry of new Property and GL claims into Risk Management Information Systems.
      • Assist with management and entry of reinsurer claims acknowledgements into Risk systems.
      • Assist Professional Liability team with Powerpoint presentations and report generation.
      • Review insurance policies and assist with updating policy summaries.
      • Attention to detail a must.
      • Other tasks as assigned.

      Required Qualifications

      • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours).
      • Previous experience working in an office setting.

      • Basic competence with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Business administration studies including finance and/or accounting.
      • Experience assisting with invoice payment, familiarity with insurance, experience using a Risk Management Information System (RMIS).
      • Familiarity with insurance terminology.
