What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct in-depth legal research on corporate restructuring issues in large Chapter 11 cases
- Produce same-day analysis of market-moving events and conceptualize ad hoc reports
- Augment articles from the reporting desk and assist bankruptcy court reporters with their news reports
- Collaborate with journalists, editors, analysts, and lawyers to deliver high-quality content
- Manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting tight deadlines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, with journal membership preferred
- 3-5 years of experience at a law firm in the corporate restructuring department
- Strong understanding of restructuring legal issues and the Bankruptcy Code/Rules
- Comprehension of corporate finance issues that arise in restructurings
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers
