- NPI Leadership: Oversee the entire process for new product introductions, from quotation to production readiness. This position provides direct leadership and support to a team of Project Managers who have cross-functional Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain resources assigned to their project team. The NPI Leader helps with escalations and ensures the team is appropriately supported to execute on their assigned projects to ensure successful launch of new business at the facility.
- Apply Innovation to Grow: Owns the pipeline of new opportunities for the facility. Assigns appropriately technical talent for scoping, innovating, and estimating efforts in support of quoting actiivites. Drives efforts to position us internally to win new opportunities by leveraging technology, innovation, and efficient manufacturing processes. Assists the sales team in positioning these opportunities and establishing confidence with the customers in support of new business wins.
- Technical: Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to review designs and optimize manufacturability and efficiency.
- Customer Collaboration: Act as a primary technical liaison with customers, supporting growth of facilities technical capabilities and ensuring clear communication and alignment when engaged in active Project Activity. Establish as the primary point of escalation for all project activity at the facility.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, improve collaboration, and support overall effectiveness of product realization, validation, and launch processes.
- Financial Management: Own the Pre-Production P&L ( roll up of project activity within the organization ) to ensure an efficient and effective utilization of resources.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and mentor a high-performing NPI team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience:
- 8+ years of engineering experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role focused on NPI or manufacturing.
- Experience with cleanroom assembly and finished medical devices
- Experience in contract manufacturing.
- Skills:
- Strong project management capabilities with a proven track record of successful product introductions.
- Expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and process validation.
- Proficiency in quality systems and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA).
- Knowledge of tools such as CAD software, ERP systems, and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
