What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct internal audits of hospital bills and collaborate with external auditors
- Analyze audit results to minimize uncompensated patient revenues
- Educate UMMS personnel on clinical reimbursement practices
- Utilize findings to enhance the understanding of billing processes within the organization
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and utilization review standards
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Current active RN registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing
- Four years of professional nursing experience in a patient care setting
- Two years of experience in Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, or Case Management
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for educating staff and stakeholders
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in healthcare auditing or financial analysis within a medical setting
- Familiarity with clinical reimbursement methodologies
- Advanced certifications in nursing or healthcare management
- Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations
- Proven track record of improving clinical reimbursement processes
