      Job summary

      An exciting opportunities has arisen for Band 7 Emergency Nurse / Paramedic / AHP or Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join Newton Abbot Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) as we are expanding our team

      You will is responsible for the delivery of autonomous care in the clinical assessment, examination and management of minor injury and illness presentations continually advancing the boundaries of practice of the service. This includes acting as an expert resource to the nurse/paramedic team and supporting them in the delivery of evidence based, safe, effective and quality care.

      Providing additional support in leading and co- coordinating the clinical and managerial requirements of minor injuries in the UTC and support the Advanced Practice Clinical Lead and lead by example and empower staff in their personal and professional development to continually develop their range of clinical skills to modernise and improve patient care, including encouraging and delivering training updates.

      You will proactively support the Unit in achieving both national and local Emergency and Urgent care standards and work closely with the Emergency Department improving pathways and ensuring seamless transition for patients across services.

      This includes

      • Acting as an expert resource to the nurse/paramedic team and supporting them in the delivery of evidence based, safe, effective and quality care.
      • Providing clinical expertise in Minor injuries and urgent care.
      • Be committed to working flexible within a dynamic environment, responding positively to new demands and changes.
      • Flexibility to work across a variety of sites

      About us

      The UTC is a busy environment, that supports the local sees a wide variety of patients of all ages with minor injuries and illnesses.We work remotely from the local Emergency Department but have close links to ensure the local communities have a high quality service and are ideally placed to support in alleviate pressures on our Emergency Departments relocating patients from the main hospital site.

      We also operate and our team rotates into 2 satellite units providing our communities with a local service keeping many patients closer to home.

      As a team we are enthusiastic and committed to supporting education, sharing of knowledge and developing our service.
