- Implement s activities in accordance with the organization and nursing strategic plan to advance the vision of evidence-based practice (EBP) , research and innovation for SSM Health such as fellowship programs.
- Provides expertise in design, development, analysis, and dissemination of new knowledge and the use of evidence to guide and support, clinical practice research and improve current methods. Serves as the nursing representative on the Institutional Review Board.
- Develops m entees by providing consultation, mentoring, education, and guidance for EBP projects and research studies.
- Implement s structures to advance and support disseminat ion of EBP projects and research studies (e.g., manuscript publications, conference presentations)
- Drafts, writes, and edits literature review , scientific reports, papers, journal articles . A bstracts and submits grants to support the integration of research and EBP .
- Advance s the plan and strategies to guide th e organization to be a national leader in EBP and research.
- Evaluate s program outcomes and role model s professional practice behaviors which may include improved patient outcomes, increased efficiency, decreased cost, and enhance visibility of EBP and research across the organization and beyond.
- Serve s on and/or lead s relevant ministry/regional/system nursing and/or other interprofessional workgroups and committees.
- Lead s strategically aligned ministry/regional/system EBP projects and research studies as assigned (l evel of leadership may vary depending on strategic directives or goals ) .
- Maintain s professional networks internally and externally to promote programmatic growth.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Doctorate in nursing or related field with a strong emphasis in research. Master's degree in nursing if doctorate is in related field. Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Three years' registered nurse experience. Two years of experience in leadership and/or leadership of a programmatical area.
- Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
- Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare crawling and running.

Responsible for operationalizing, maintaining, and evaluating evidence-based practice (EBP) and research activities within a ministry, region or system-level using a change agent approach. Implements an infrastructure that provides team members support to shape the work environment by assuring their practice is evidence-based and knowledge is generated through research. Promotes a culture of inquiry to bridge the gap between research and practice by engaging team members in research and EBP with a focus on guiding the development of an infrastructure of resources including coaches and mentors.
