      Purpose:

      The Nursing Home Administrator-In-Training (AIT) will complete the required training in long term care administration, as outlined in the Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators ("Board") rules and regulations, achieving a level of competency in the oversight of all facility departments. The AIT is customer service oriented, and recognizes the importance of serving staff, residents, and family members. The AIT possesses leadership strengths required to lead a facility team to success, and recognizes and utilizes the strengths and skills of a facility administrative team, staff, volunteers, vendors and contractors for overall successful performance of the facility.

      **This is an unpaid internship**

      Qualifications:

      • Qualify for, participate in and successfully complete the Board-approved 1000 hour program under training of a Preceptor, and holds a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in health care administration, health services administration, or an equivalent major, or has credit for at least 60 hours in subjects, as prescribed by the rules of the Board, which prepares the applicant for total management of a nursing home (OR) qualify for, participate in and successfully complete the Board-approved 2000 hour program under training of a Preceptor, and holds a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university;

      • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age;

      • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills at previous employers;

      • Must speak and understand English, in written, oral or diagram form;

      • Able to understand and process mathematical calculations for facility budget purposes and for routine facility operations;

      • Ability to keep accurate records for facility meetings, Operations meetings, and training events;

      • Possesses common sense to deal with problems involving a variety of factors at facility, and ability to make astute assessments of situations;

      • Possesses ability to deal effectively with staff, residents, family members, physicians, vendors and visitors;

      • Skilled in interviewing, evaluating and advising;

      • Ability to work flexible hours each week, including weekends and holidays as needed;

      • Software knowledge – MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and industry-related
