- Provide academic support to students by reviewing best practices in study skills, matching resources to study needs, and improving testing habits.
- Assist students with learning in a variety of content areas to include pathophysiology, pharmacology, fundamental nursing knowledge, and other undergraduate nursing courses as needed
- Uses strong communication skills and active listening to provide feedback and develop individualized plans for success. Strong assessment skills to identify students’ strengths and areas of improvement
- Knowledgeable in pre-licensure nursing program learning outcomes
- Provide consistent guidance to students that align with course content and outcomes
- Provide feedback to faculty for student success. Meet with students on a regular basis to monitor utilization of remediation strategies
- Meet and provides academic support with re-entry students
- Coach students in test taking skills and in the preparation for all course and standardized exams
- Assess student’s needs through data analysis and interview techniques to deliver individualized and tailored coaching to improve student’s specific outcomes
- Provide coaching in group and 1:1 setting. Maintain documentation of student remediation plans, processes, and success
- Preserve lines of communication with program faculty and director including attendance in select faculty meetings
- Master’s degree in nursing required
- Active, current, and unencumbered Arizona or multi-state RN Licensure required
- Spanish language proficiency preferred
- 3 years of recent nursing experience required
- 2 years of experience providing support to others in precepting, tutoring, training, instruction, advising academic support services or classroom instruction preferred
- Ability to use different teaching methods and to transmit information in a manner which is accessible and comprehensible to students
- Strong communications skills and the ability to effectively mentor, tutor, and guide students
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

In this role you will provide support and success strategies through one-on-one mentoring and group webinars, to pre-licensure nursing students to include personalized study tips, time management and test taking strategies, and HESI data review and coaching. This role is part of a dynamic and creative team of nurse educators dedicated to student success. A well-suited candidate needs to be creative and solution oriented, passionate about student success, and able to work with students from various backgrounds and experiences.

Location: remote position
Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm AZ time
