      Olin Chlor Alkali Products and Vinyls, a division of Olin Corporation, is seeking an Occupational Heath Nurse. This position will be located in Lake Jackson, Texas. This role provides occupational health support to Olin’s Texas Operations and Chlor-Alkali Products and Vinyls, and Epoxy business groups located in the region.

      Occupational Health Nurse Essential Job Functions:

      • Provides day-to-day medical support and coordination for Texas Medical Department operations.
      • Establishes and works within defined processes and systems for the Medical Department.
      • Provides first aid and direct care of employee and contractor illnesses/injuries within the scope of care and level of licensure in accordance with local treatment guidelines; communicates information regarding workplace illnesses/injuries to location management team and Division Medical department.
      • Responds and provides medical support for any on-site medical emergencies including nights and weekends.
      • Assists in case and care management for employees on workers compensation; works with Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor, Division Medical department, and third-party administrator; assist Division Medical on short-term disability leave cases; leads return to work planning with local management, advising on ADA and FMLA medical requirements.
      • Coordinates and administers periodic physical examinations with company physician including DOT requirements, audiometry, pulmonary function, EKG, vision testing, venipuncture; fitted respirator usage and confined space entry/rescue medical testing.
      • Implements and reviews required and recommended occupational health surveillance programs according to protocols with employee follow-up; evaluates programs for revision, addition and/or deletion.

      Occupational Health Nurse Minimum Requirements:

      • Bachelor's Degree* in Nursing or RN Certification; Bachelor's Degree* in Nursing preferred.
      • 3+ years floor nursing experience; occupational nursing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Chemical plant environment strongly preferred.
      • COHN certification preferred; or willingness to achieve COHN certification within mutually acceptable time.
      • Certifications in audiometry, pulmonary function, breath alcohol, CPR and first aid preferred; or willingness to achieve certifications within mutually acceptable time.
      • Knowledge and experience with disability management, basic ergonomics, ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, OSHA, workers compensation, accommodation solutions and medical surveillance regulatory requirements preferred.
      • Demonstrated abilities in the following:
        • Excellent interpersonal skills; experience in dealing with all levels of workforce.
        • Ability to build relationships in a team environment, including ability to operate successfully across and up/down organizational structures.
        • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including time management and prioritization skills.
        • Ability to work self-directed with initiative to drive measurable results.
      • A valid US Driver's license.
