      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and reflectiveOccupational Therapistto join our team and help our "outstanding" service continue to develop. Working alongside an established team this role will enable the successful applicant to develop their varied occupational therapy skills, across a range of core areas (including physical) and within secure mental health services: there are extensive on site facilities and links with the community. Successful applicants will get the opportunities to develop their skills in occupational therapy with a range of complex male patients, including those with mental illnesses, personality disorders, significant physical health impairments and cognitive impairments.

      You would also have the opportunity to work within the Psychology and Social Work departments, as part of the wider work of Therapy Services.

      • Assessing Client Needs: Conducting evaluations to understand each individuals unique challenges and goals.

      • Creating Personalized Treatment Plans: Developing strategies to help clients perform everyday tasks with ease.

      • Providing Therapy: Guiding clients through exercises and activities to build skills and confidence.

      • Recommending Assistive Devices: Helping clients use tools and equipment to enhance their independence.

      • Collaborating with Healthcare Teams: Working closely with doctors, families, and other professionals to deliver holistic care.

      Manages and co-ordinates the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.

      Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. Maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patients rehabilitation / progress.

      Ensures the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.

      Maintains and develops close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.

      Contributes to business growth by actively promoting priory therapy services in line with the local units business plan.

      Maintains effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and purchasers throughout the patients rehabilitation.

      Leads on implementation of new services within own site, sharing best practice with other sites in the area.

      Ensures the services and support provide offers good value for money and supports the overall aim of the site.
