- Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW
- Registration: AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy recognised by AAOT-NSW and eligible for membership to AAOT-NSW and eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated clinical experience in an acute care including experience in discharge planning, home assessment, home modifications and equipment prescription
- Extensive experience with patients in general medical caseloads including respiratory, cardiology, gastroenterology and aged care
- Demonstrated experience in assessment and discharge planning, including experience with NDIS and ENABLE
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills
- Commitment to ongoing education, professional development, quality improvement and research
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence

About the role
The Occupational Therapy Team at Westmead Hospital are seeking a highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join their dynamic team. This position will initially be based in the RACE Team (Rapid Access to Care and Evaluation). RACE is a rapid response, post-acute, geriatrician lead, home-based service at Westmead hospital. RACE utilises a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals and geriatrician services to provide in-community assessment and care that engages the patient, their carer and families. There will be future opportunities to work in other clinical areas including acute inpatients, inpatient rehabilitation and TACP. You will be working in a highly supportive department with positive team culture. This is a permanent full time role working Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm.
