      We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Neurodiversity team at HM Thameside, a category B Prison located in Greenwich, South-East London.

      In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.

      Hours

      The working hours are:

      Monday to Friday - 08:00 - 16:00 or 09:00 - 17:00

      Salary

      This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £ 53,172 per annum - depending on experience.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Occupational Therapist, your responsibilities will vary. You will

      • Assess, plan, and deliver care and therapeutic interventions to patients with complex and/or unstable health care needs.
      • Review care and therapy interventions
      • Establish communication networks with other team members, patients and other health and social care agencies, attending joint visits with other professionals as required.

      • Diploma/ degree in occupational therapy with current professional qualification (HCPC)
      • Post registration experience and evidence of Continued Professional Development
      • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
      • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards

      Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

      Job responsibilities

      In this role you will be responsible for the provision of occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation. You will provide visible and professional support to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and rehabilitation aimed at improving or maintaining independence. Working with a caseload of patients with varying difficulties including complete health and social care needs; responding effectively to the changing needs of the patient caseload, managing the sometimes conflicting priorities of prevention of admission and discharge. Youll assess and order equipment as identified by patient need and allocate work to OT assistant or care staff as necessary. Establishing communication networks with other team members, patients and other health and social care agencies, attending joint visits with other professionals as required.

      As an occupational therapist working with Practice Plus Group you will:

      Provide Outstanding evidence based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will provide treatment for patients with complex, severe and enduring needs. Ensuring written and electronic records and activity data are maintained in accordance with Practice Plus Group policies

      Deliver Non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries. You will implement occupational therapy interventions, provide baseline assessment of patients level of functioning and identify care planning issues to devise realistic and appropriate treatments plans. Arranging/attending case conferences as appropriate to patient need.

      Inspire Excellence in your colleagues working in partnership with a multidisciplinary team and prison colleagues recognising that our workforce is our most valuable asset. You will forge strong links with our partners and stakeholders, providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
