      Who We Are

      SFU International is Simon Fraser University's hub for international relationships, knowledge and resources to enhance and mobilize the global reach of SFU's teaching, research and community engagement. The team works across two campuses (Burnaby and Harbour Centre). Staff also work in a hybrid environment. The team currently consists of 10 staff including whoever will be staffed within this position.

      About the Role

      Coordinates the logistics for international protocol visits and SFU International meetings, events, workshops, seminars and special events. Provides front line general client information services; types, duplicates and reproduces a variety of materials; processes daily mail; composes routine correspondence; maintains the integrity of information systems, databases, web pages, and office files; and assists with arranging travel activities.

      Qualifications

      High school graduation and one year of post-secondary education including formal training in word processing, database, spreadsheet, and web updating applications. Minimum 4 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.

      • Ability to use word processing, database, spreadsheet, and calendar scheduling applications (e.g., Word, Excel) at an advanced level.
      • Ability to use enterprise-level information and database systems at an intermediate level [e.g., MoveOn; Salesforce; FINS (i.e., to outline expense report requests); MyINFO (i.e., to process timesheet processing) Share-point: One Drive)].
      • Ability to use web development applications at an intermediate level.
      • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
      • Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative.
      • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive materials with discretion.
      • Ability to maintain records with accuracy.
      • Ability to work cross-culturally with people of different ethnic backgrounds.
      • Ability to use initiative and creative problem solving.
      • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
      • Excellent organizational skills.
      • Excellent knowledge of standard office practices, methods, and equipment.
