What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Abstract a wide range of medical data from the EMR and code it according to established data standards
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, disease processes, and coding guidelines
- Ensure adherence to data management protocols as set forth by state and national requirements
- Participate in the development of coding policies and assist with complex coding problems
- Perform other related duties as needed in the coding process

What is Required (Qualifications):
- An Associate's Degree (in CRM or CIM preferred) required for those certified on or after 2015
- Minimum of two years of experience working as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) in a hospital or central tumor registry
- Certified Tumor Registrar certification is required
- Proficiency in Facility Oncology Registry Data Standards (FORDS), ICD-O Coding, and AJCC TNM
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to achieve productivity goals under pressure

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Five years of experience as a CTR is preferred
- Working knowledge of Metriq Registry software and EPIC EMR
