What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct case finding, data abstraction, and follow-up for patients diagnosed with cancer
- Capture complete patient history, diagnosis, staging, and treatment information for the cancer registry
- Utilize coding systems (STORE, SEER, ICD-O3, AJCC Staging 8th Ed) for data extraction and reporting
- Perform quality assurance activities, including data accuracy reviews and audits
- Participate in professional development activities related to the cancer registry and treatment
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in a related field
- Must be an Oncology Data Specialist Certified by the National Cancer Registrar Association
- Strong understanding of cancer data collection principles and reporting guidelines
- Familiarity with HIPAA privacy regulations and virtual office procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
