What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Responsible for case finding, data abstraction, and follow-up of patients with a diagnosis of cancer
- Perform clinical data abstraction by capturing complete patient history, diagnosis, staging, and treatment information for the cancer registry
- Utilize cancer data collection principles and assign codes based on established coding systems to ensure compliance with reporting guidelines
- Conduct quality assurance activities, including data accuracy reviews and non-reportable audits
- Attend and participate in professional conferences, seminars, or workshops related to the Cancer Registry and cancer treatment

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in a related field
- Must be an (ODS-C) Oncology Data Specialist Certified by the National Cancer Registrar Association

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in cancer registry data abstraction and quality assurance processes
- Familiarity with coding systems such as STORE, SEER, ICD-O3, and AJCC Staging
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations and virtual office procedures
