Job Summary - P2 This is a fully remote, dual level, posting at the P2 and P3 level. This posting will represent three vacancies, with at least one vacancy to be filled from the Indianapolis metropolitan area.
P2: The P2 Online Recruitment Specialist is a fully competent and productive professional that is part of the PUO Student Acquisition Team (Recruiting + Admissions+ Marketing) and plays a pivotal role in elevating awareness and enrollment in Purdue University's online degree and certificate programs in management and business. Charged with recruiting and guiding prospective students through the enrollment process, the Specialist serves as an ambassador for the university, delivering guidance and essential information about online programs, admissions criteria and ensuring a seamless transition to Purdue University. We seek a dynamic individual to represent Purdue University's online programs with utmost professionalism across diverse recruitment opportunities and modalities, thriving in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrating a strong commitment to inclusivity among prospective learners, team members, and external partners. This role is best suited for individuals who are highly driven, customer service oriented, self-starters, and who can work effectively and collaboratively in a virtual work setting.
As an Online Recruitment Specialist, your central role involves close direction from the Senior Manager, Recruitment and Engagement teams, and collaboration with marketing strategists to execute impactful strategies for driving prospective students to apply and enroll in Purdue University online programs. You'll work collaboratively to surpass annual recruitment targets by staffing engagements with industry partners, community organizations, and higher education institutions. This includes organizing engaging recruitment events, delivering presentations to diverse groups, and utilizing various outreach methods. Operating predominantly in a remote capacity, flexibility for evening and weekend work is essential, with an anticipated 30-40% travel commitment during peak times to attend in-person recruiting events such as grad fairs, conferences, and on-campus activities as well as annual team gatherings.
Preference will be given to candidates with direct recruitment experience for graduate-level business programs.

What You'll Be Doing as a P2: As a P2 Online Recruitment Specialist you'll be doing the following:
Recruiting and Enrollment Support
- Execute targeted recruitment efforts and regularly measure and report student recruiting activities on a weekly basis under general supervision.
- Contact prospective, new, and current students to recruit and admit as well as make additional inquiries into prospects' higher education aspirations. (Lead nurturing) and articulate to potential students how Purdue fits into their educational goals.
- Report on non-matriculated students that will then funnel back to marketing team.
- Develop and facilitate admissions help sessions for applicants utilizing chat and web-conferencing tools for delivery.
- Participate in virtual and in-person recruiting events. Will include travel.
- Use pre-designed communications plan to follow up on leads, identify new opportunities, and respond to inquiries from prospective students using all available technologies including email, texting, phone calls, Live Chat, video, and social media.
- Tracking communication plans and campaigns in CRMs and monitor matriculation of students into programs.
- Work with applicants to ensure completion of materials, applicant support (questions, document, gathering), guide prospective students by using a sales, counseling and soft skills approach and maximize yield of enrolled students. Communicate regularly with the Admissions team for any application, and documentation or other related issues. Responsible for minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of area in collaboration with others.
- Provide a seamless hand-off of students to the Student Success and Completion team for advising and success coach support after the student has accepted their admission.
- Adhere to all FERPA, University regulations, and HIPPA guidelines. Demonstrate a positive customer service attitude and interacts with co-workers, faculty staff, students in a pleasant, courteous and cooperative manner. Ensure that appropriate confidentiality is maintained in working with students.
Program Support
- Interact with academic admin leads and program managers to report on status of student recruitment.
- Work with student services and program management teams to execute recruitment initiatives and strategies using webinars, in person and virtual events.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
What You'll Be Doing as a P3: As a P3 Senior Online Recruitment Specialist you'll be doing the following:

- Liaison with third party partners as necessary.

May make moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of the area.

What You'll Need: As a P2 Online Recruitment Specialist you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Human Resources, or related field AND two (2) years previous experience in one or more of the following: customer service, student recruitment, admissions, or related; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Experience with online programs preferred.
- Professional experience in student recruitment, enrollment, or admissions. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and prior exposure to a database system; ability to create standard documents and reports. Ability to work with large populations of students. Being able to empathize and form relationships. University experience, especially with Purdue University system tools such as, Cognos, Slate, SharePoint, etc. is preferred.
A P2 will need the following skills:
- Professional experience in student recruitment, enrollment, or admissions. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and prior exposure to a database system; ability to create standard documents and reports. Ability to work with large populations of students. Being able to empathize and form relationships. University experience, especially with Purdue University system tools such as, Cognos, Slate, SharePoint, etc. is preferred.
As a P3 Senior Online Recruitment Specialist you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Human Resources, Higher Education or related field AND 4-5 years previous experience in student recruitment, admissions, or related. Master's strongly preferred. Experience with online programs preferred. University experience, especially with Purdue University system tools such as, Cognos, Slate, SharePoint, etc. is preferred.
As a P3 you'll need the following skills:
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and prior exposure to a database system; ability to analyze and present data effectively. Ability to work with large populations of students. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to empathize and form relationships. Skilled in time management and organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks. Preferred: Knowledge of online student recruitment strategies.
