- Working knowledge of Accounting and General Ledger line structure, with ability to create and maintain balanced entries.
- Properly prepares and provides information for managerial and financial reports within required Service Level Agreements.
- Establish strong relationships with Line of Business Partners to effectively serve and resolve any discrepancies by providing detailed support.
- Participates in departmental projects.
- Abilities to research and question both normal and abnormal patterns and trends.
- Ability to perform all function’s on primary desk, along with the ability to move between other desks/ functions within the department to provide support and back up.
- Ability to work within multiple financial platforms.
- Work independently with technology support partners to define, test, and implement bug fixes and smaller scale system enhancements.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
- High level of detail in daily functions including the ability to recognize, identify, and process transactions.
- Ability to conduct detailed research using available resources in a timely manner.
- Make quality decisions under tight deadlines/pressure.
- Ability to perform and execute balancing reconciliations between system and G/L’s.
- Ability to self-manage multiple tasks.
- Candidate must be self motivated, and results oriented with the ability to function effectively under deadlines and possess the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong knowledge in Trade and wire systems including but not limited to Lightning and Collateral Matrix Database.
- At least three years experience within financial operations, preferably with a strong working knowledge of Fixed Income securities (used for pledging), paydowns, pricing and security movements.
- Ability to analyze data and make appropriate decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- May require working extended hours based on peak and cyclical volumes.
- Strong PC Skills including Microsoft Suite with advanced Excel knowledge and the ability to create and use Vlookups.
- Aptitude to learn and understand financial concepts for a wide variety of products.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of internal/external clients, remaining professional and knowledgeable while protecting KeyBank’s monetary risks and confidentiality.
- Ability to adapt in an ever changing environment.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience in an Operations environment.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and develop an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of functions.
- Working knowledge of the Lightning (LFM) database system.
- Working knowledge of free security movements utilizing FED and/or BONYMellon systems.
- Working knowledge of the CMS (Collateral Management System) database

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. This role is a hybrid role - 1 day on site in our Brooklyn, OH location is required for the ideal candidate.
The Treasury Operations Department processes transactions and creates reports (internal and regulatory) related to Investment Portfolio, Collateral Management, Funding (including Liabilities), and Safekeeping Functions. The Operations Analyst is responsible for keeping the system of record balanced and current to correspond with all Treasury related transactions. Treasury Ops is primarily responsible for supporting various Lines of Business at Key and its affiliates. Portfolio functions include fixed income securities (i.e. bonds) trade settlement and related incoming principal and income processing. Funding functions include Key debt issuances, principal and interest payments, monitoring of overall cash positions at the Fed, and sending large dollar wires out. Collateral functions include pledging of securities for the benefit of various Key contracts, products and public deposits. It also includes daily monitoring of collateral excess and deficits on all positions. Safekeeping functions include buy and sell transactions, principal and interest processing, and sending out trade confirms and receipts. The department and teams regularly prepares and provides information for managerial, financial, and regulatory reports and maintains effective internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX regulations.
