We are actively hiring for our 2024 summer Operations Internship! This summer, we are looking for motivated individuals looking to begin a career in our operations division, supporting our member services and claims departments. As an Operations Intern, you will have the opportunity to serve customers directly as they explore new insurance policies or look to make changes to current policies, and as they file and progress through the claims process. This internship is a wonderful introduction into the insurance industry that will allow you to gain exposure into our products and how we serve our policyholders.

CSAA Internship Program: As an intern, you will participate in a 12-week summer internship experience with an emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world immersion into our business. As an intern, you will participate in professional development and job-specific training, and plenty of networking opportunities to gain deep understanding of your role and department while also broadening your knowledge of CSAA’s business. We offer opportunities to participate in an Intern Hackathon, executive meet and greets, community service opportunities, and social bonding activities to help you stay connected.

Internship Details:

• The anticipated dates of our 2024 summer internship will be May 20 - August 9.

• This role is remote, yet you must reside within proximity to one of our office locations: Glendale AZ, Las Vegas NV, Colorado Springs CO, Oklahoma City OK and Mt. Laurel NJ.

• The anticipated hourly pay rate for this role is $18.00.

• At the end of the formal summer program, there is potential to work part-time based on your school schedule, and convert to full-time upon graduation.

Essential responsibilities:

• Participate in 3-week service training bootcamp (the training schedule is anticipated to be 7am-4pm PT Monday-Friday for this initial training period).

• At least 50% of your internship time will be spent directly with policyholders on the phone ensuring that each experience with CSAA IG reinforces our value proposition.

• You will provide dedicated support to our policyholders as you explain and answer questions regarding coverage, provide detailed policy reviews and insight into various products and services, and process underwriting transactions.

• You will gain exposure to all areas with the Operations Division including service, claims, sales production, and process & performance.

• You will participate in special projects designed to allow for collaborative and innovative problem solving.

• Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.).

• Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.).

• Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings.

• Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. While we welcome all majors, Insurance, Risk Management, and Business majors may have greater insight.

• Rising juniors and seniors ideally graduating on or before December 2024 or May 2025.

• Interest in beginning a career in the insurance industry, and potentially work towards a license in Property and Casualty or Personal Lines.

• Shares a passion for customer service and displays strong critical thinking skills. Previous experience in a customer service environment is preferred.

• Self-motivated and results oriented professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting. Has the ability to influence and effectively handle multiple tasks and or projects.

• Strong attentional to detail with a focus on high quality and consistency.

• Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds.
