      Job summary

      We are looking for an Operations Manager with excellent communication and organisational skills, to manage the day to day operational aspects of the practice. Ideally we are looking for a person with some experience of primary care management but we welcome applicants with transferable skills, particularly in IT and HR. The role is 24 hours per week over 3 days Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

      Main duties of the job

      The Operations Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the Practice on a day-to day basis. The successful candidate will ideally have previous management experience. SystmOne experience would be an advantage but is not essential for the right candidate. Good communication skills and an ability to work with individuals, groups and outside agencies is essential, as is the enthusiasm to adapt to ever changing priorities of the NHS.

      Cricklade Surgery is a single handed, dispensing, rural practice situated near the town of Swindon with a patient list size of 3,400. We are a friendly and supportive team with experienced staff in all areas.

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      a) Manage the reception and dispensary teams and the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring that staff achieve their primary responsibilities.

      b) Deal with practice IT system issues

      c) Work to ensure Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and commissioned service targets are met.

      d) Implement HR processes, including recruitment, relevant checks, contractual issues, appraisals and staff performance.

      e) Manage the significant event and complaints processes, in line with current legislation and guidance.

      g) Keep up to date with developments and changes within primary care.

      h) Ensure the practice explores all opportunities to maximise income and reduce expenditure in collaboration with the partners.

      j) Ensure relevant Operations Manager practice policies and procedures and maintained and updated as necessary.

      k) Ensure on-going CQC compliance.

      l) Manage effective communication, both internal and external and ensure the website and other communication platforms are accurate and up to date.

      m) Facilitate relevant meetings and maintain an up-to-date action plan.
