Internalize and develop a deep understanding of the systems you’ll execute on in the summer
Complete the required synchronous and asynchronous training for your role
Engage in regular synchronous, virtual training experiences with your MD, LD Operations starting the week of April 8th, including 1:1 check-ins and role-specific meetings
Begin performing regional functions and execute to-do’s in all digital platforms
Proactively build relationships with other staff members and corps members to understand and shape the summer experience
Own attendance for supported regions, ensuring integrity of attendance systems and surfacing, investigating, and resolving attendance discrepancies
Address and support CM attendance issues, including follow-ups and reinforcing attendance policies
Manage and/or contribute to CM communications throughout Pre-Service, including managing Slack channels, sending logistical reminders, maintaining daily announcements document
Support the setup and maintenance of TFA’s Learning Management System, Docebo
Support CM user experience in Pre-Service platforms and systems, assisting with operational and technical needs
Assist CMs with operational and technical needs
Support virtual accommodations for corps members as needed
Support regional/cohort operations as needed
Ensuring all corps member accommodations are met within your spaces
Working to provide an inclusive culture where corps members and staff can openly dialogue
Monitoring all communication platforms to identify and address any breaches that may occur
Explicitly naming and interrupting racism and classism in all of its manifestations
Bachelor’s degree required
One or more years of teaching
Proactive Learning and Adaptation: Ability to internalize and apply training for various systems, with a commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new digital platforms
Effective Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and build relationships with staff and CMs, enhancing the summer experience
Strong Organizational and Time Management: Exceptional skills in organizing workload and managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Customer Service Orientation: Proven ability to provide excellent customer service, addressing and supporting CM needs with empathy and efficiency
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable leveraging technology, including TFA’s Learning Management System (Docebo), to enhance user experience and streamline operations
Problem-Solving and Initiative: Ability to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in attendance and operational issues
Collaborative Teamwork: Experience in working collaboratively with diverse teams, contributing to regional/cohort operations and needs
Previous Pre-Service, VSTT, Institute, or operations experience strongly preferred, but not required.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Operations Specialist (OS), you play a critical role in making summer training a “mountaintop” moment by managing the systems that allow for seamless operations within your regional community and equipping corps members with the information and resources they need to navigate their experience. During the Spring, OSs will complete virtual training (both synchronous and asynchronous) to prepare you for your role, which will begin toward the start of the wave of Pre-Service that your region is following . Over the summer, you will take on ownership of operational systems needed to ensure a strong experience and flow for CMs throughout Pre-Service. The OS can expect to work alongside a team of TFA and seasonal staff supporting and executing on Pre-Service, and will co-manage 1-4 School Operations Managers depending on region size. YOUR COMPENSATION
The Operations Specialist role is compensated $20.04 per hour throughout the entire commitment. Compensation for all Pre-Service positions is competitive and determined based on role responsibilities.
DURATION
Part-time Staff Training for Operations Specialists begins April 8, 2024. Each role will engage in 4 synchronous, role specific training calls starting the week of April 22nd and will have ongoing check-ins with their summer manager throughout the spring.
