      The Heat Seal position is responsible for documenting stops and ensuring film is properly sealed onto meal trays. This position reports to the Team Leader/Production Supervisor. In the absence of the production support person, other production support personnel will serve as backup.

      WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:

      Schedule: 3rd shift (scheduling hours vary between 8pm – 6am EST)

      • Starting hourly pay of $21.30

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Calculates and documents downtime and variances. Records waste in the Waste Compass tool.
      • Record all downtime in DMO
      • Must be trained and certified on material handling equipment needed for assignment. Must be able to keep material handling equipment under positive control and safe at all times.
      • Must be able to perform the pre-work inspection, including checking film and reloading as necessary.
      • Sets up and operates heat seal machine.
      • Monitors sealing temperatures, air pressure, and sealing times.
      • Checks for proper sealing and records findings every 15 minutes
      • Monitors transfer points before and after heat seal to ensure package transfer is completed without product loss.
      • Restarts line when line is down.
      • Ensures line is set at proper line speed.
      • Assists checkweigher with reworks.
      • Checks coding every 30 minutes for legibility and correctness.
      • Clears jams quickly in order to minimize downtime on the line.
      • Performs all other duties as assigned by Team Leader.

      REQUIREMENTS:

      • Ability to read and write proficiently and legibly and communicate effectively.
      • Basic math and computer knowledge use
      • Ability to lift 50 lbs and the ability to kneel, bend over, squat, stoop, and carry.
      • Ability to operate forklift and pallet movers.
      • Ability to work in a warm and dusty environment.

      Skills:

      • Excellent attention to detail, neatness, and follow through.
      • Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks.
      • Ability to troubleshoot basic problems and take appropriate corrective action
      • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
