Job Description

Maintain compliance with company HSE policies and demonstrate the ability to respond quickly and confidently to safety and environmental events.
Requires the operation of Company vehicles. Operator must drive safely to and from wells and well sites, maintain a clean driving record and adhere to Company policies.
Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist.
Utilize Cygnet, XSPOC, Carte and EVIN to analyze data and effectively plan for daily work.
Measure and record oil, water, and gas production in eVIN. Ensure accuracy of run tickets and federal seal log.
Conduct production well tests on CTBs
Perform operational checks of assigned wells. Identify and report changes in individual well performance.
Analyze production related problems and work with foreman, production techs, or other Lease Operators to resolve issues.
Troubleshoot and repair production/facility equipment, including but not limited to dumps, pumps, regulators, seals, combustors, etc. Notify appropriate party when assistance is needed.
Start or shut down wells and facilities, without safety or environmental incidents.
Monitor and condition oil, water and gas to meet specifications. Coordinate with third parties for sale or disposal
Operate artificial lift systems including but not limited to rod pump wells, plunger lift, ESPs, gas lifts, and flowing wells.
General lease site upkeep and maintenance (fences, signs, weeds, trash, etc.)
Develop and maintain positive relationships with government officials, landowners, and third-party contractors.

High School Diploma (or GED)
Valid Driver’s License
May require the ability to pass a respiratory fit test.
An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Basic computer skills.
2+ years of Lease Operating experience.
Housing within 50 miles of the assigned area of operation.
Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time
Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers
Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions
Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance
Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges
Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects
Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities
Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in field, hazardous Chemicals, and Hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
Job Summary
The Lease Operator is responsible for the overall daily operation and maintenance for a specified group of oil and gas wells. The Operator II demonstrates intermediate lease operating skills through increased troubleshooting and problem-solving on routes that may include multi-well pads and CTBs.
Performs a range of straightforward assignments. Contributes to tasks or projects within a team, function, or work group. Practical working knowledge of a technical or specialty area. Exercises independent judgment in accordance with policies, procedures, techniques, relying on limited experience to plan and accomplish work. Works under a moderate level of supervision.
Dependent upon business need and the candidate's home location, this position will report to one of the following offices: Killdeer, ND; Watford City, ND; Epping, ND; Tioga, ND; Sidney, MT; Baker, MT; Buffalo, SD.
