What you'll do...
JOB SUMMARY
**Candidate would need to live in Oregon for the role**The incumbent supervises the day to day operations of certain units within the payroll department. Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payments to associates and taxing authorities in compliance with all federal, state and local payroll laws, and informs the management of any critical issues in a timely and complete manner. Provides assistance in resolving difficult payroll related issues and a ssists Payroll Manager with developing and monitoring the payroll team budget, as well as creating and maintaining project plans, to include resource assignments, risk mitigation and issue documentation and tracking through to resolution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Resource Management
• Sets daily priorities and assign tasks and projects to all team leaders.
• Monitors and provides periodic status updates on each project to Payroll Manager.
• Monitors performance and develops team members to ensure consistent, effective and efficient processes are identified, understood and adhered to.
• Prepares and delivers associate quarterly and annual performance reviews, including creating performance metrics for each performance objective.
• Follows department procedures when consulting with internal peer groups and business representatives to provide accurate resource allocation for projects.
• Conducts employment interviews, provided input on hiring decisions and participates in corrective action and termination discussions and decisions.
2. Workload/Project Management
• Provides subject matter expertise on matters pertaining to payroll management and processing.
• Assists with development and management of project work plans and resources, including estimating project hours and resource requirements.
• Develops status reports and updates management with progress as necessary.
3. Financial/Budget Management
