      SUMMARY

      The New York State Caregiving and Respite Coalition is charged with creating a sustainable system of respite care throughout the state. The CWRC was established as a pilot project to expand the reach of the Coalition to expand access to caregiver education and respite services in the targeted six-county region, Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Warren, Hamilton, and Washington.


      This position responsibility includes assisting the team with community outreach and identifying and engaging family caregivers in need of respite in the six-county region. Identifying and administering caregiver assessments to those not connected with a local office for the aging and developing a care plan that would connect them to available services. Travel to the all six counties is required.

      This position runs through June 30, 2026.


      STATUS: Non-exempt, part time (20 hours)

      Salary: Up to $21 per hour

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE

      • Identify & provide community outreach efforts to educate and inform caregivers and professionals on the benefits and need for respite.
      • Meet, screen and support family caregivers in accessing and developing person centered respite through the program.
      • Maintain data and files of prospective and active family caregivers.
      • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations/partners.
      • Arrange and conduct presentations for visibility of program and recruitment of informal caregivers and program volunteers.
      • Outreach to community groups, faith communities, volunteer organizations, including group presentations and tabling at conferences, job fairs and other events.
      • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

      Requirements

      QUALIFICATIONS

      EDUCATION: Associate’s degree, BS or BA; or equivalent combination of education and experience

      EXPERIENCE: Personal or professional experience in the field of caregiving.


      PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

      · Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment

      · Strong interpersonal skills necessary

      · Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills required

      · Computer skills (MS Office 365)

      · Work is performed at a desk or personal computer with regular video meetings

      · Ability to work in multi-cultural situations.
