      About the Role
      As an Outside Sales Representative at Zekelman Industries' Wheatland Tube Pipe Business Unit, you will play a key role in driving sales growth, developing customer relationships, and expanding market share across the South Central United States. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic sales planning, and market intelligence gathering. You will contribute directly to increasing demand for our steel pipe products while ensuring outstanding customer support.

      You will collaborate with distributors, midstream oil and gas companies, fabricators, contractors, and engineering firms, ensuring our products are well-positioned in the market. This is a remote role based in Texas or Colorado, requiring 60% travel for client visits, trade shows, and industry events.

      This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, enjoys building lasting relationships, and has a deep understanding of steel pipe products and industry sales strategies.

      What You'll Do
      • Creates demand for existing and new products by engaging with steel pipe distributors, midstream oil and gas companies, fabricators, sprinkler and mechanical contractors, and engineering firms within the territory.
      • Serves as the primary point of contact for new quotations, conducting follow-ups and tracking orders through the full sales cycle.
      • Gathers and reports market intelligence, providing timely insights on industry trends and customer needs.
      • Develops and nurtures relationships with customers, acting as a subject matter expert on steel pipe and tube products.
      • Creates and maintains accurate sales forecasts by customer and product.
      • Continuously evaluates territory performance against sales volume, new account growth, and profitability goals, adjusting strategies as needed.
      • Collaborates closely with inside sales teams to achieve regional sales objectives.
      • Represents the company professionally at trade shows and industry association events.
      • Diagnoses and resolves potential quality claims, coordinating with the Quality Assurance Team to address concerns effectively.
      • Identifies new business opportunities, including potential acquisitions, new product developments, and market expansions.
      • Leads and promotes safe work practices in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
      • Maintains regular attendance for both onsite and offsite activities as an essential function of the role.


      Who You Are
      • 5+ years of outside sales experience in a related industry.
      • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
      • Strong knowledge of API Line Pipe and the steel pipe industry preferred.
      • Highly motivated, articulate, and energetic with a passion for sales and customer service.
      • Self-starter with the ability to work remotely and maintain a structured, dedicated workspace.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify business opportunities.
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Availability for vehicle and air travel at least 60% of working days, including overnight trips.
