What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct regulatory and competitive research to support product development initiatives
- Draft policy wording for new and revised policy forms in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with actuaries to create and update rate and rule manuals and underwriting guidelines
- Prepare documentation for regulatory form filings and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Provide solution-oriented guidance to address objections from state departments of insurance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in insurance compliance, claims, underwriting, or legal
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in drafting P&C coverage forms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Word, Acrobat, Teams, Outlook
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and regulators
- Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Coursework or certification in general insurance, paralegal studies, ARC, or CPCU
- Experience with P&C rate, rule, and forms filings with state insurance departments
- Familiarity with state regulatory websites and compliance software such as Wolters Kluwer or Lexis Nexis
- Experience working with state regulators or P&C rating bureaus such as ISO and AAIS
- Notary license
