- Prepare data sheets, equipment specifications, inquiry requisitions, technical bid evaluations, purchase requisitions and change orders
- Assist in preparation of equipment cost, size, and weight estimates
- Review and markup supplier data for compliance to the purchase requisition and project requirements, ensuring consistency with primary project documents.
- Document delivery scope towards the client, internal engineering disciplines and our internal manufacturing plants.
- Actively engage and ensure all interfaces, both internally and externally, are well defined.
- Coordinate with the flexible pipe engineering and design disciplines to ensure that monitoring system software/hardware protocols, instrumentation, and structural constraints are effectively implemented.
- Manage and control product configurations, quality plans and product documentation.
- Ensure design requirements are met including: planning, inputs, reviews, outputs, verification, validation and changes.
- Ensure product integrity by addressing fit for purpose, safety, performance, quality, reliability and maintainability through supplier and customer design reviews.
- Proactively engage in optical-, data-, software-, and manufacturing engineering to ensure complete, integrated, producible, maintainable and cost efficient solutions are achieved.
- Monitor product design and manufacturing cost and implement cost reduction programs as needed.
- Ensure technical, design, drawing and BOM adheres to company standards of quality and accuracy.
- Support customers and their contractors during design meetings and the installation/commissioning of equipment.
- Travel as and when required, approximately 10-15 days per year.
- BSc or MSc in mechanical, electrical, or software engineering.
- 1-5 year experience in technical project delivery.
- Experience within flexible pipe engineering and delivery is a big plus.

As we seek to solidify our capabilities within optical monitoring systems, we are looking for a Package Delivery Engineer for Optiflex. This unique product is reaching a level of maturity that sets it on a course to depart from the Development environment and move into pure project engineering and delivery environment. Unique technical opportunities
This is a chance to participate in delivering unique and bespoke technical solutions within optical monitoring systems, integrated in offshore flexible pipe systems, to global customers.
You will initially report to the R&D Director and join the New Product Development organization, however, within a foreseeable horizon we will transfer the Optiflex project delivery responsibilities to the Engineering and Technology organization.

As Package Delivery Engineer for Optiflex, you are actively participating in the entire product design life cycle, including design, specification, procurement, manufacturing/assembly, quality control, load-out/shipping, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance & service, as well as continuous improvements. You provide input in the form of documentation, specification, guidelines as well as through team work and active communication, being a key participant in the delivery of projects to our end customers. This is done in collaboration with other NOV departments during the project phase.
Within in project scope, you are responsible for the optical monitoring system design and associated tasks, on all relevant aspects, such as opto/electro-mechanical design coherence, signal processing, data management, software setup and delivery, device and systems control including cybersecurity interfacing.
Working with and delivering delicate products for challenging environments, sometime involving offshore work, you have a constant awareness of HSE and Quality aspects.

We do not require you to have a formal background within fiber optics or software engineering, but we expect you to be a fast learner and that you come with a strong engineering understanding and foundation, so you can pick up and understand what details are relevant.
You understand and systematically follow-up on components and subsystems milestone dates related to material purchase, software preparation, issuance of documents, fabrication, inspection / testing and delivery; help expedite suppliers to meet purchase order requirements / project schedule.
You communicate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and customers; and can bring a clear picture to Project Managers of significant issues, changes and risks that may impact cost or schedule.
You thrive in a continuous improvement mindset, quickly adapting to learnings and feedback from each project design and delivery phase, as you and the team encounter new opportunities and challenges.
