The Role
As a Healthcare Program Intern at SciTech Scity, you will work on the cutting-edge initiatives of the Healthcare Innovation Engine , collaborating with startups, healthcare providers, and academic institutions to address systemic healthcare challenges. Your focus will be on supporting the development, evaluation, and implementation of digital health technologies designed to improve health equity, enhance care access, and address chronic disease management.

You will gain hands-on experience with innovation in healthcare technology and play a key role in creating blueprints for digital-first healthcare approaches in local communities. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.

The Healthcare Program Intern will report to the Senior Innovation Program Manager and work closely with the Healthcare Program Manager.

What You’ll Bring
You are a forward-thinking, detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for healthcare innovation. Your ability to conduct basic research, including the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from various sources will be key to success in this role.

Deliverables
By the end of the 10-week paid internship, you will:

1. Develop a pilot handbook for startups and application process for pilots that will help startups through their pilot process
2. Develop guidelines for data collection for pilots, assessing and analyzing data policies and procedures and working with established hospital frameworks
3. Lead the creation of a case study draft of one of the pilots

What You’ll Do

1. Assist with coordinating pilot projects with startups, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to deploy digital health technologies
2. Support the evaluation and analysis of pilot outcomes, focusing on effectiveness, scalability, and health equity
3. Contribute to the development of an integrated, anonymized data-sharing platform and streamline data collection, developing material to support data governance
4. Assist in creating digital blueprints and evidence-based case studies for technology implementation in healthcare
5. Other responsibilities, as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

1. Must meet one of the following criteria:
   1. Current undergraduate or graduate student at a New Jersey school
   2. Recent NJ college graduate: must have graduated less than one year prior to start of the internship experience (May 2024-May 2025 graduates)
   3. A current undergraduate student who is a permanent NJ resident
2. Educational and/or professional background in business, health sciences, computer science, marketing, or other related field
3. Basic understanding of the US healthcare system
4. Highly professional and ability to thrive within a team setting
5. Strong attention to detail

Compensation, Location & Schedule
This is a paid part-time internship position. You will be compensated at a rate of $20.00 per hour and must be available to work an average of 20 hours per week over the course of 10 weeks during the summer. While SciTech Scity’s physical location is being developed, it is currently located at Liberty Science Center; therefore, you must be available to work at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ, a minimum of two (2) full days per week (ideally Tuesday and Thursday).

1. Prolonged Use of Computer Equipment : Sedentary intervals requiring prolonged use of computer systems and other technology, including keyboards and screens, for extended periods to manage systems, analyze data, and sometimes collaborate remotely
2. Physical Activity : Intervals of frequent standing, walking, and moving around the organization to provide onsite event support, assist with equipment setup, and troubleshoot issues in real-time
3. Multi-Tasking : Ability to stay focused and perform tasks under pressure, particularly during live events and in fast-paced environments; must be able to work well in an open floor plan with a moderate degree of noise
