      Job Description

      We are seeking a skilled painter to join our team. You will be responsible for reviewing incoming jobs, overseeing the prep process, maintaining chemical concentrations, and ensuring adherence to process settings. Additionally, you will verify conformance of finished parts, conduct routine quality checks, and maintain the shop's cleanliness and orderliness. You will also manage job schedules and preventative maintenance, track production output, and comply with all company policies.

      Responsibilities

      • Review incoming jobs to determine workload and stage the work accordingly.
      • Oversee the prep process to ensure parts are masked correctly according to the drawing.
      • Maintain proper chemical concentration in the wash system.
      • Maintain correct settings on the powder coat booth to ensure process adherence.
      • Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications and ensure correct job issuance.
      • Perform routine quality checks on each team member.
      • Perform daily maintenance duties and notify the supervisor of any equipment-related issues.
      • Maintain a clean and orderly shop.
      • Maintain schedules for jobs and preventative maintenance.
      • Track output to ensure production efficiency.
      • Maintain a daily routine operator checklist.
      • Meet weekly with the supervisor to provide updates and feedback on shop operations.
      • Comply with all company policies, rules, guidelines, and behavior expectations.
      • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

      Essential Skills

      • Experience with painting, paint prep, spray guns, masking, powder coating, and coating processes.
      • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine proper masking and hanging of parts.
      • Skilled in troubleshooting and adjusting to ensure quality powder coating.
      • Knowledge of proper wash and cure steps in the powder coat process.
      • Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers.
      • Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • At least 1 year of paint experience in a manufacturing environment.

      Work Environment

      You will be working in a non-climate controlled environment, where you will perform the powder coating process in a paint booth to paint parts that come by on an overhead conveyor.

      Job Type & Location

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, Texas.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
