What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

- Assist individuals or small groups of students in enhancing their learning experience
- Provide academic support, behavior intervention, and medical support in classroom settings
- Maintain a productive classroom environment in special education and general education classrooms
- Assist with lunchrooms, play environments, and field trips
- Adapt to distance learning and assist with virtual instruction

What is Required (Qualifications):

- High School diploma/GED
- Passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE)
- Associate's degree or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university
- Completion of post high school courses in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field
- Possession of a valid California driver's license

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

- Experience working as a substitute or in a long-term substitute assignment in a relevant field
- Additional coursework or certifications in education or special education
