      Paralegal

      Salary up to £30,000

      6 months FTC with opportunity to go permanent

      We have an exciting opportunity for a paralegal in the Litigation team within Aviva’s UK legal function, based at the Norwich office.

      This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious law graduate, looking to build a career as a qualified lawyer working in-house at one of the UK’s largest insurance companies.

      A bit about the job:

      You will be joining a collaborative and close-knit team based in the Norwich office. This is a lively and strategically important team which delivers first class legal advice and handles diverse client relationships across the entire UK GI, Health and Life businesses and is part of the overall Aviva Plc legal function.

      Within this role you will be required to manage a variety of litigation against Aviva, related to all types of insurance products. You will manage your own caseload of Small Claims Track litigation and have opportunities to assist senior lawyers on more complex cases. Full training will be provided and there may be opportunities to qualify as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive through our apprenticeship scheme.

      Skills and experience we’re looking for:

      • Law degree or Paralegal with prior relevant experience;

      • Knowledge and experience of litigation. Knowledge of insurance products, FCA rules and the law and rules that relate to data protection useful, but training will be provided;

      • Negotiating experience and ability to maintain relationships with internal collaborators, third parties and external advisers;

      • Exceptional communication skills with ability to have difficult conversations at all levels

      • Strong commercial and strategic mindset with ability to see the bigger picture and also deliver in terms of the best customer outcome and customer principles

      • Starting salary up to £30,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
