- Youth Build (Queens) Program: Facilitates entry to at-risk youth for the construction and IT trades, from the ages of 17-24 years of age.
- Provide administrative support including organizing and maintaining documentation and digital files/records (including those of a confidential nature); preparing materials for conferences/meetings; drafting routine correspondence.
- Provide general support to office staff and visitors.
- Communicate with student applicants, partners, and participants by telephone and email.
- Assist with data collection and tracking of program outcomes to support reporting.
- Be organized and complete basic data entry and other clerical tasks as requested.
- Manage workflow by ensuring deadlines are met and work completed correctly.
- Generate memos, emails, and reports when appropriate.
- Assume responsibility for maintenance of office equipment, including computers, copiers, etc.
- Respond to questions and requests for information.
- Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers.
- Answer incoming calls and assume other receptionist’s duties when needed.
- Assist with facilitating groups
- Detailed-oriented and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced work environment
- Computer literate including experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and the Internet
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
- At least 1 year of experience working with at-risk inner-city youth
- Vested interest in working with high school and college students
- Must have strong people skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A High School diploma is a must
- 1-2 years experience in an office setting
- Some College
- up to 56 hours of sick time per year

Status : Part-time
Compensation : $18- $21/hour
Schedule: varies 20 – 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday

We are seeking a qualified Part-time Administrative Assistant to work in person with our young adults preparing to enroll in the Youth Build Youth Employment programs. The Part-time Administrative Assistant will serve as a role-model for by providing supportive services and mentorship for young adults in Queens.
The Youth Workforce Department has a wide array of services for youth and young adults 17-24 years of age. Youth participants are connected with job training, education, internship/employment placements, and skill development for preparation for the workforce. Our Youth Workforce administrative office is located in Forest Hills, Queens. The Part-time Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Youth build office Program Director in Flushing, Queens.
