Pay: $25.48/hr. This is a part-time postion and offers no benefits.
Essential Skills:

narrow job definition but necessary for success;

general public need to be able to identify needs and find appropriate
solutions;

5. Facilitator of learning: an excellent teacher will facilitate dynamic learning
experiences. An excellent teacher will design and implement effective lessons
that engage students at all levels of learning.
6. Master of the Subject Matter: an excellent teacher is the master of subject
matter. Teachers exhibit expertise in the subjects which they are teaching and
spend time continuing to gain new knowledge in their field.
7. Persistence: an effective teacher must have persistence to last for the long
race and rigorous journey.
8. Technology: an effective teacher will plan and provide learning experiences
using effective, research-based strategies that are embedded with best
practices including the use of technology.
9. Reflective: exemplary teachers engage in a cycle of reflective practice
regarding their own effectiveness as a facilitator of learning. Teachers should
reflect alone and with others regarding their successes and their challenges.
Qualifications Profile:
A valid Ohio Teaching Certificate/License or a Bachelor’s Degree (then apply for an
Ohio Adult Education License) is required. Experience in adult education is preferred.

Essential Functions:
1. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times
designated.
2. Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual
needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
3. Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the
maturity and interests of the students.
4. Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation
upon request of immediate supervisor.
5. Designs and implements meaningful, dynamic lessons each and every day.
6. Addresses the learning needs of students based upon quality assessment
data both formative and summative.
7. Facilitates learning by setting clear goals for each lesson, unit, and project that
align with curriculum objectives and college/career readiness standards.
Ensures students understand these goals and can articulate them when asked.
8. Help students prepare for high school equivalency tests (i.e. GED), WorkKeys
Tests, college entrance exams (i.e. Accuplacer), and/or upskilling for jobs.
9. Develop employability skills with their students that are needed to enter the
workforce and for job advancement.
10. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional technology,
consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved.
11. Strives to implement by instruction and action the state Aspire’s philosophy of
education and instructional goals and objectives.
12. Assist students in setting and reaching SMART goals.
13. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides
detailed feedback and progress reports as often as necessary to continue the
cycle of learning.
14. Helps identify the learning difficulties of students, seeking the assistance of
local/state colleagues as needed.
15. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students,
equipment, materials, and facilities.
16. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, state
Aspire policy, and administrative regulations.
17. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing
student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of
classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a
fair and just manner.
18. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
19. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff and local committees as required.
20. Participates in local, state, and national PD’s.
21. Applies knowledge of current research and theory based on Aspire objectives.
22. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students,
peers, and administrative staff.
23. Speaks clearly and concisely in written and oral communications.
24. Performs duties with awareness of state Aspire, district requirements, and
Board of Education policies.
25. Utilizes excellent organizational and time management skills.
26. Utilizes excellent written communication skills with students and all persons
within the district and Aspire community.
27. Demonstrates experience and proficiency in the use of technology.
28. Displays excellent verbal (including listening) and non-verbal communication
skills.
29. Demonstrates ability to work independently and productively.
30. Supports the vision and mission of Aspire in all efforts.

or his/her designee.
