Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assignments w ill be offered in G uidedPath format initially and it will be expected to learn and teach in F lexPath format within 6 months of hire date .

• Assignments are on an ongoing basis according to expertise and school needs.

• Utilize your professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction from a pre-designed curriculum.

• Mentor doctoral learners and participate in doctoral committees. Utilize your professional expertise to provide relevant feedback and ensure successful completion.

• Be available within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) by phone, email, and in the courseroom to ensure learners receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.

• Travel within the US to participate in doctoral residencies.

• Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the learning experience.

• Establish high standards and ensure learners understand how they will be evaluated.

• Adhere to University policies and procedures.

• Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and training as required .

• Participate in other activities based on university needs.

Work Experience:

• Three years of teaching experience preferred.

• Professional experience in the discipline is required, with a minimum of two years for undergraduate-level teaching and three years for graduate-level teaching.

• Candidates must also have industry experience in mobile app programming or developing web, mobile, AI, or cloud software.

• Research, scholarship, or achievement in the discipline required for graduate-level; in addition, at the doctoral level, experience with how to conduct and oversee research in the discipline required .

• We actively support the use of AI in both educational and professional settings. We encourage leveraging artificial intelligence technologies to enhance learning experiences, foster innovation, and streamline workflows. Familiarity with AI tools, such as machine learning platforms, AI-driven cloud services, and automation technologies, is highly desirable.

• Working familiarity of the following:

• Tools: Android Studio, Xcode, Visual Studio, Docker, Git, Mac Studio, Google Colab .

• Languages:

• General-purpose programming: Java, C++, C#, Python, Rust, Ruby, TypeScript.

• Web development: JavaScript (with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.js), HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, Node.js.

• Mobile development: Kotlin (for Android), Swift (for iOS), Objective-C

• Systems programming: C, Rust

• Data processing & analysis: Python, R, SQL

• Machine learning/AI: Python (with libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch , Scikit-learn), R.

• Cloud computing & distributed systems: Go, Python, Java.

• Database languages: SQL (with variants like PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra), GraphQL .

• Scripting: Bash, Perl, PowerShell.

• Databases: MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebase.

• Demonstrated delivery and/or development of innovative and experiential learning course activities.

Education:

All degrees must be conferred from a regionally accredited institution. Copies of required certificates and licenses and unofficial transcripts for all graduate degrees with the institution and conferred degree and date must be attached.

• A graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required that coincides with this type of specialty.

• A terminal degree in Information Technology, Information Sciences, Software Engineering, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is preferred.

Other:

• Must be able to travel occasionally within the US should a business need arise (including doctoral residencies, site visits, etc.). For most programs travel would not be common. Travel may involve a plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided.

• Ability to work onsite in a Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor to floor using elevators or stairs.

• Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in a setting that enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
