      POSITION SUMMARY

      The Department of Social Work, in the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences at the National University invites applications for part-time faculty in Psychology with a specialization in Social Work. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of or potential for excellence in teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. The successful candidate will have the potential for a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.

      Essential Job Duties:

      • Lead classroom sessions onsite and/or online.
      • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
      • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
      • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
      • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
      • Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
      • Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

      Qualifications:

      Required:

      • Master’s degree with focus in Social Work or related field and 18 credit hours of Social Work coursework from a regionally accredited institution.
      • Minimum two (2) years of direct teaching experience at the Master and/or Doctoral level.
      • LCSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
      • Three to five (3-5) years of professional and/or research experience in Social Work.
      • Excellent skills in teaching online, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to learning to Teaching Through Feedback.
      • Must have personal computer and ability to facilitate online instruction and communications remotely.
      • All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualifications.

      Preferred:

      • Doctorate degree with focus in Social Work.
      • Research-based, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal article publications.
      • Curriculum development experience.
      • Experience guiding students through the dissertation process.
      • Experience in higher education.
      • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise.

      Compensation Range:

      Hourly: $26.63 - $28.89

      Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position.
