What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct organized research in the area of food chemistry/food microbiology
- Perform independent literature searches and prepare summaries of research topics
- Prepare research project summaries
- Assist Principal Investigator (PI) with grant preparation
- Perform analytical procedures and protocols as directed
- Collect and analyze data from ongoing research projects
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate student researchers
- Train new students in administrative procedures used in the laboratory
- Maintain inventory and order research supplies and materials
- Assure that purchasing card transactions are reconciled in a timely manner
- Maintain electronic files of protocols
- Assure students provide appropriately formatted and referenced protocols

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Valid driver's license (some positions)
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check
- Standard background checks
- Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability
- Strong organizational and administrative skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in food science research
- Knowledge of laboratory protocols and procedures
